DOOM was an incredible amount of fun in ways that most games in the past decade haven’t made their mainstay. Gunplay was incredibly smooth, and the feeling of development as you rip and tear through hordes of demons was incredible – a few movement-related hiccups later on notwithstanding.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero was an exercise in bringing a touch more focus to an ambitious mainline game – and while it did not fix any of the main game’s major problems, it was among the most accessible challenging Pokémon content I have played in well over a decade.
